CONSTRUCTION
SITE
A city centre construction project was facing numerous obstacles while works were being carried out on a busy main shopping street. Creating as little disruption was key to ensuring shop owners and residents could go about their regular business like any other day. The disruption of refuelling a diesel generator to power the site would be unacceptable along with the noise and pollution emissions that would be created.
Essential loads were always maintained on site to power welfare facilities during the busy daytime and a reduced demand at night. Two office modules, one drying room, one canteen and a toilet block also needed to be supplied with energy. Energy consumption was driven by heating, lighting, and general office loads together with welfare and catering. Power tools and equipment for the work itself also needed energy while water pumps needed to be catered for. The solution was a 90Kva 90Kwh battery pack with a 100Kva generator The generator only for an hour a day or on rare occasions that demand surpassed the capacity of the battery pack.
